Breton
Brezhoneg
Breton is not a descendant of Gaulish, contrary to a widespread belief: it was brought to Armorica by migrants from Britain in late antiquity. It is therefore a cousin of Welsh and Cornish, not of the speech of the Gauls. It is the only Celtic language still alive on the continent, and its speaker numbers fell sharply over the twentieth century.
