Lithuanian
Lietuvių
Lithuanian is famous for its archaism: it has kept features of Proto-Indo-European that almost every other language in the family has lost, which makes it a cornerstone of comparative linguistics. Together with Latvian it is all that survives of the Baltic branch, every other Baltic language having died out. Its stress is mobile and unpredictable, which makes it considerably harder to learn.
